Our next event is the Mixed Doubles Open Playdowns (January 31 - February 3, 2019). This fall, the Hope Curling Club will be starting a Mixed Doubles league.
The season will begin Friday, October 12, 2018 at 7 pm and run on Friday nights for 10 weeks through to December 14, 2018. This exciting game is an alternative to four person team curling that has been catching on around the world. Games are shorter - about 90 minutes. The basics are relatively simple, each team consists of only two players - one man, one woman (spouses, friends, mother/son, father/daughter etc.). Each team throws five stones per end. This is a recreational league and open to beginner and recreational curlers of all ages. Consider getting out for a bit of fun exercise Friday evenings and enjoy the Club Lounge after your game to socialize and meet the other teams. The Fall season will be very reasonable at $120 per team. To register your team for the 2018 season or for more information, please call Ray at 604 869 5199 or email [email protected] The Hope Curling Club will host the BC Mixed Doubles Open, February 1-3, 2019. The Hope Curling Club is initiating a Hope and District Commercial Curling League on Tuesday nights, starting October 16, 2018.
Consider giving your business a little exposure and publicity, and have fun doing it at a very reasonable cost. This is a recreational league and is open to beginner and recreational curlers of all ages. Teams can be all ladies, all men, or mixed. Another benefit is that the teams do not have to be the same four people every Tuesday night. Your business will be able to sponsor a team for $1000 per year. The team can be made up of individuals you choose (employees, owners, clients, friends, etc.) to represent your business. Games will be announced on social media featuring the name of your business. Your business name will also be displayed on the Draw Board and on our website. The Commercial Curling League runs Tuesday nights at 7:00 pm. Games are 8-ends and take approximately two-hours to complete. Post game, refreshments are available in the Lounge with the opportunity to socialize with the other teams from the Hope and District business community. To register your team for the 2018 season or for more information, please call Kent at 604 860 0416 or email [email protected] Winter is coming... and so is the start of our curling season.
